Position Overview

We are in search of a Head of Sales for Gaming Marketing Initiatives to become a pivotal member of our sales team, concentrating on the eastern region. We are looking for a sales visionary who possesses a deep passion for gaming and a commitment to assisting game companies in reaching their most enthusiastic players. This role involves building and expanding a new B2B marketing solutions business line at Discord, specifically tailored for game publishers and developers in the eastern region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue and account objectives for the eastern territory by:
    • Identifying and pursuing media buying opportunities with game publishers, studios, and their media agencies.
    • Establishing and nurturing relationships with key game publishers and their media partners.
    • Negotiating and finalizing business opportunities.
    • Assisting clients in meeting their business and marketing objectives through Discord's offerings.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Defining and implementing effective sales strategies and operational processes.
  • Applying an account planning approach to prioritize clients, increase revenue, educate clients, lead strategic discussions, and manage complex relationships.
  • Creating and delivering persuasive sales presentations and proposals using both internal and external data.
  • Becoming an authority on Discord solutions and tailoring recommendations to meet diverse client needs.
  • Consulting with clients and contributing to marketing and media strategies that enable them to connect with their target audiences on Discord.
  • Demonstrating expertise in the gaming, media, and marketing sectors to clients, within Discord, and in industry discussions.
  • Potentially managing teams as the marketing solutions line expands.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in media buying, brand marketing, digital advertising, and sales within the gaming sector, ideally focused on the eastern region of the US.
  • Proven track record of meeting account and revenue targets.
  • Experience managing significant territories and client portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of gaming clients' challenges and objectives throughout the sales funnel.
  • Established relationships with top marketing decision-makers at game publishers and their agencies in the eastern US.
  • Analytical skills to assess campaign performance through data insights.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with the marketing and advertising technology landscape.
  • Experience in negotiating various ad buying agreements.
  • Experience in developing, mentoring, and leading sales teams.

Compensation

The total annual target compensation for this full-time position ranges from $354,200 to $389,600, along with equity and benefits. Compensation is determined by role and level, with individual pay influenced by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
