Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Behavior Support Specialist at EOAC. This role is responsible for providing critical support to teachers in managing student behavior and delivering instructional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Behavior Management: Assist in the intervention and management of student behavior under the direct supervision of the Site Manager and/or guidance of the Behavior Specialist.
  • Instructional Support: Assist in the instruction of children under the direct supervision of the Site Manager and/or guidance of the Behavior Specialist.
  • Classroom Preparation: Assist teachers in the preparation of instruction and help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Administrative Support: Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required behavior and/or instructional-related reports.
  • Staff Development: Participate in staff development, including specialized training programs to improve job performance.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to study and obtain one.
  • Experience: Experience working with children with challenging behaviors.
  • Skills: Ability to assist in behavior management and intervention, ability to work well with children, and ability to communicate effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress, think clearly in a stressful situation, and have high physical stamina.
  • Physical Demands: Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting, and ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Environmental Factors: Constant contact with children, parents, and staff, and travel between site assignments.
