Position Overview:

The IT Asset Management Specialist plays a crucial role within the Support Services Group, focusing on the administration and oversight of IT assets. This senior-level position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the evaluation of vendor options for technical services and equipment, procurement processes, negotiations, and the management of purchase orders and requisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring effective management from acquisition to final disposal.
  • Collaborate with IT Management and EUC Staff to identify procurement needs for hardware, software, and services, while adhering to financial accounting practices.
  • Conduct thorough research on vendor alternatives and provide recommendations to enhance procurement strategies.
  • Manage the processing of requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of vendor contracts, policies, and procedures, both in physical and digital formats.
  • Utilize asset management software to track inventory and optimize the deployment of IT hardware.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the lifecycle management of IT assets, advising on procurement approaches.
  • Document processes and create reports using tools such as Visio, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Support front-line EUC inquiries and provide backup assistance to the help desk, including user security management and addressing technical questions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in asset management and procurement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong inventory control capabilities.
  • 2-3 years of experience in central administration, including lists, content types, and workflows.
  • 2-5 years of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and macros.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business, accounting, or Computer Science/Information Systems.
  • Technical certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned by management.
