The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking an IT Support Specialist for KXXV. This role involves assisting in the setup and upkeep of employee technology and systems, including desktop computers, mobile devices, printers, and fax machines. The technician will be responsible for configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading both hardware and software components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software systems.
- Manage and uphold the security protocols of operating systems.
- Restore data or systems by developing, documenting, and executing backup strategies.
- Provide technical support for the organization’s information systems and associated equipment, including application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers, and storage solutions.
- Execute recovery procedures, manage scheduling and backups, and oversee batch processing tasks.
- Preferred: Associate's degree; Required: High school diploma or GED.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with fundamental system administration tools and processes.
- Strong networking and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to adhere to stringent security standards and implement the Scripps company’s security policies.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexible working hours are necessary, including availability during holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- Some moderate lifting may be necessary.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to provide proof of insurance meeting company standards.
