Role Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to enhance our HR team. This role is pivotal in supporting recruitment efforts, facilitating onboarding processes, and maintaining employee records under the guidance of the Senior Human Resources Generalist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding all employee-related information.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, managing applicant data, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee New Employee Onboarding:
    • Create and maintain new employee files in both shared drives and HRIS systems.
    • Process I-9 documentation and E-Verification.
    • Conduct background checks.
    • Prepare necessary correspondence.
    • Establish and maintain comprehensive employee records, recommending improvements to enhance processes.
    • Ensure timely processing of benefits enrollments for payroll.
    • Collaborate with the Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate processing of compensation and benefits during onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training and credentialing requirements for employees.
  • Generate reports as requested by the Senior Human Resources Generalist.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, copying, and sorting.
  • Assist with various projects and additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage workload effectively and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Communicate regularly with the Senior Human Resources Generalist regarding departmental matters.
  • Exhibit flexibility and efficiency in time management while prioritizing tasks.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems or information management.
  • Experience in data entry with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment while meeting deadlines.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to concentrate, manage stress, and maintain confidentiality in a professional setting.
  • Capacity to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

The organization covers Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability for eligible employees.
