Retail Operations Assistant Manager

Position Summary:
The Assistant Store Manager will collaborate with the General Operations Manager and Assistant General Manager to cultivate a thriving retail environment with a dedicated team of sales professionals committed to delivering exceptional customer service. This role will motivate and guide the team to enhance profitability and sales while upholding a standard of service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Exemplifies and enforces outstanding customer service. Actively listens to customer concerns to resolve issues effectively. Ensures the team adheres to established standards for the sales floor and cash handling to provide a consistent customer experience.
- Sales Strategy: Leads the planning and execution of promotional events and product tastings. Supports multi-channel initiatives. Drives Units Per Transaction (UPT) and Average Dollar Sale (ADS). Analyzes results and market trends to swiftly identify and address opportunities for growth.
- Merchandising & Visual Standards: Oversees the sales floor layout and merchandising standards. Regularly inspects the sales floor and collaborates with the team to strategize and implement all visual merchandising elements.
- Team Development: Recruits a team of skilled sales-focused associates to build a pipeline for future promotions. Ensures supervisors conduct daily team briefings and performs ongoing talent assessments to establish career progression plans for key individuals, aiming to retain top talent and reduce turnover.
- Performance Management: Timely addresses performance issues and recognizes sales achievements. Coaches associates to enhance their sales capabilities.
- Data Utilization: Reviews and utilizes performance metrics and observations to provide constructive feedback to supervisors and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensures adherence to all operational and security policies and reinforces these standards with the team.
- Asset Management: Guarantees compliance with company asset management policies, including daily inventory checks, cash audits, and security updates.
- Issue Resolution: Addresses issues promptly and coaches staff to elevate their performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of retail operations, including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention.
- Experience in staff development, including recruitment, coaching, counseling, training, and career development.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Requirements:
- Flexibility in scheduling; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
- Professional appearance is required at all times.
- Team-oriented mindset is necessary.
- Participation in semi-annual inventory is mandatory.
- Must pass a security background check.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
