Position Overview:

The Credit Officer at Natixis plays a crucial role within the Credit Risk department, which serves as an independent oversight function. This position is focused on evaluating and managing the credit risk associated with the bank's commercial real estate lending operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of credit risk transactions proposed by the business unit.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to ensure that all pertinent information regarding counterparty risk and expected returns are included in recommendations.
  • Monitor and analyze the existing portfolio of commercial real estate transactions, preparing detailed analytical reports and presentations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business unit contacts to prioritize and manage the pipeline of requests for onboarding new counterparties.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and internal committees.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to credit processes.
  • Participate in the development and validation of credit policies and limit frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Identify macroeconomic factors that may impact the portfolio and propose risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, with knowledge of CMBS and structured finance.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in credit modeling.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of establishing credibility with senior management.
  • Familiarity with internal credit rating models and risk monitoring systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and database management.

Work Environment:

This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance three days a week, with the possibility of changes to this requirement.
