Overview: Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Officer (Executive Director) to focus on our commercial real estate lending operations. This pivotal role is part of the second line of defense, tasked with overseeing the review and credit evaluation of our real estate lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and assess credit risk transactions proposed by business units, providing thorough evaluations and recommendations to the Credit Committee.
- Foster strong relationships with various business unit contacts to ensure timely and effective onboarding of new counterparties.
- Oversee the existing portfolio of commercial real estate transactions, preparing analytical reports and presentations while staying informed on industry trends and macroeconomic factors.
- Deliver presentations to senior management and internal stakeholders, articulating credit risk assessments and portfolio insights.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit processes, policies, and regulatory requirements, including the proper use of credit rating models and risk assessments.
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis and risk evaluations, focusing on Sponsor counterparties, while validating internal credit ratings and risk metrics.
- Contribute to the overall management of the Credit Risk group, sharing insights and fostering a robust risk culture within Natixis.
- Engage in the development and periodic review of policies and limit frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Propose risk mitigation strategies on both individual and portfolio levels as necessary.
- Familiarity with loan workouts and special servicing is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of relevant credit experience, particularly in commercial real estate lending.
- Extensive background as a Credit Risk Officer with a deep understanding of credit risk metrics and mitigation techniques.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of establishing credibility with senior management and deal team executives.
- Proficient in credit rating models and methodologies, as well as credit risk monitoring systems.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database management; experience with Argus or similar tools is a plus.
