Senior Commercial Real Estate Credit Analyst

Position Summary:
The Vice President of CRE Underwriting will play a crucial role in the evaluation and sanctioning of new CRE loan applications. This position involves close collaboration with the origination team and credit risk management to thoroughly review and assess financial statements, conduct due diligence, evaluate credit risks, and prepare comprehensive deal presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft detailed credit memorandums that provide an extensive analysis of new credit proposals, identifying risks and mitigants associated with loan structures.
- Collaborate with the origination team to address any risks identified during the underwriting and closing phases.
- Support the presentation of transactions to the credit committee to facilitate approval.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Bank's lending policies and procedures, identifying any deviations from credit policy.
- Recommend suitable risk ratings in line with credit policy guidelines.
- Lead discussions during meetings and conference calls regarding transactions, guiding the due diligence process and navigating the approval workflow.
- Assist with annual credit reviews as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required by the role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a proven record of academic success.
- Formal credit training and a minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in a Commercial Bank or real estate credit lending environment.
- Exceptional financial analysis skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and a deep understanding of financial data relevant to CRE loan transactions.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, adapting to diverse personalities and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
- Capacity to manage multiple long-term transactions concurrently while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and pay attention to detail.
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $124,000 to $140,000, depending on various factors including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market conditions. This salary range is subject to change.
