Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Officer specializing in commercial real estate lending. This role is crucial within the second line of defense, focusing on the evaluation and credit analysis of the bank's commercial real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of credit risk transactions presented by the business unit, providing insightful challenges and recommendations to the Credit Committee.
- Maintain strong relationships with business unit contacts to prioritize the onboarding of new counterparties effectively.
- Oversee and manage the existing portfolio of commercial real estate transactions, preparing analytical reports and presentations while staying informed on industry trends and macroeconomic factors.
- Deliver presentations to senior management and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of credit risk evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit processes, policies, and regulatory requirements, including the proper use of credit rating models.
- Engage in detailed credit analysis and risk assessments, particularly focusing on Sponsor counterparties.
- Participate actively in the management of the Credit Risk group, contributing to the overall risk culture and sharing best practices.
- Assist in the development and periodic review of policies and limit frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Propose risk mitigation strategies for individual counterparties and the overall portfolio.
- Experience with loan workouts or special servicing is advantageous.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
- 10-15 years of credit experience, particularly in commercial real estate lending.
- Extensive experience as a Credit Risk Officer with a deep understanding of credit risk metrics and mitigation techniques.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility with senior management.
- Familiarity with internal credit rating models and credit risk monitoring systems.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel, and database management; experience with Argus or similar tools is a plus.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $230,000 and $280,000, based on various factors including experience and qualifications. Natixis also offers a comprehensive benefits package and potential discretionary incentive awards based on performance.
