Internship Overview:

This role will provide you with the chance to work closely with both Manufacturing and Engineering teams.

You will gain practical experience by addressing daily challenges within manufacturing processes and products.

Your contributions will include:
  • Proposing enhancements to optimize product flow and implementing lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Collaborating with Engineering on significant product modifications.
  • Managing the execution of incremental product enhancements through Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
  • Assisting in the development of prototype cabinet designs to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Supporting the assembly of workstations, gravity racks, carts, and fixtures, while gathering feedback on their functionality.
  • Creating concepts for tooling designs using Creo software.
  • Producing prototypes through 3D printing, sheet metal forming, or other fabrication methods.

As a team player, you will work independently, offer assistance where needed, and communicate effectively with colleagues. Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential, along with a willingness to work additional hours when required.


Compensation and Benefits:
The standard pay range for this position is between $21.00/hour and $23.00/hour. The final offer will take into account various factors, including relevant education, experience, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

Academic Criteria:

Applicants must be currently enrolled as students, registered for a minimum of 12 credits (undergraduate) or 9 credits (graduate) at the time of application. A preference will be given to candidates pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

Candidates should ideally be at least in their junior year of study.

Ability to take a semester off from academic commitments to complete the internship is required for non-graduates.

Students who will begin the internship immediately following their undergraduate degree completion will also be considered.

Only candidates with strong academic records will be evaluated, with a preference for a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the application.


Additional Requirements:
  • Commitment to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
  • Experience with computer software, including 2D and/or 3D CAD, with a preference for Creo.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good organizational abilities and self-motivation.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to operate equipment and tools, lift up to 45 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
