Key Responsibilities:As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Generate design concepts and ideas using Creo.
2. Create prototypes utilizing 3D printing, sheet metal forming, and other fabrication techniques.
3. Collaborate effectively within a team, manage your workload efficiently, and provide assistance as needed.
4. Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
5. Propose enhancements for designs, processes, and products.
6. Maintain a reliable work schedule and be open to additional hours when required.
7. Undertake various tasks to support business objectives.

Manufacturing Process Improvement:
- Suggest process enhancements to optimize product flow and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on significant product modifications.
- Oversee the execution of incremental product enhancements through process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development of prototype designs to gather feedback and assess effectiveness.
Mechanical Design:
- Support product development throughout its lifecycle, from initial design to production.
- Produce precise design documentation and drawings using Creo.
- Aid engineers in drafting bills of materials and routing documentation.
- Participate in assembling and testing prototypes, including structural, thermal, and reliability assessments.
- Prepare detailed drawings of components and sub-assemblies.
- Write operational sequences and bills of materials (BOM).
- Assist in coordinating the manufacturing of systems on a project basis.
- Help with installations as necessary.
Compensation:
The typical pay range for this position is $20.00/hour to $22.00/hour, with actual offers considering various factors such as education, experience, and local regulations.
Students maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher may qualify for a $500 bonus each semester while employed.
This position also includes access to company benefits such as employee discounts, assistance programs, and a 401(k) plan.
Qualifications:
Academic Criteria:
- Candidates must be enrolled as students with a minimum of 12 credits.
- Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Preference will be given to students in their sophomore or junior years.
- Strong academic performance is essential, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the application.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Knowledge of general drafting practices is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills and effective communication abilities are essential.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Physical requirements include the ability to operate tools, lift up to 45 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
