Are you passionate about resolving customer challenges? This technical sales internship combines elements of engineering, marketing, and sales. You will collaborate with our skilled product engineering and sales teams.

This internship will be supervised by a sales leader, providing you with insights and experiences.

Your specific duties will vary based on your assignment, but you can anticipate opportunities such as:

- Learning strategies related to product marketing, business-to-business (B2B) interactions, and sales consulting.

- Shadowing our professional product management and sales teams.

- Participating in trade shows, showcasing products, and visiting clients.

- Delivering presentations to customers.

- Conducting market research.

Engagement with Daktronics Intern Group:
- Monthly networking luncheons

- Participation in Toastmasters

- Involvement in recruiting events

- Delivering a capstone presentation and attending presentations by peers

- Building and maintaining professional relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:
The standard pay range for this position is $17.50/hour to $21.00/hour. The actual offer will be influenced by various factors, including relevant education, experience, location, and applicable local laws.

Financial relocation assistance is available for positions requiring placement in specific locations.

Qualifications:
You should be able to quickly grasp technical product features and communicate effectively with non-technical customers and users.

You can gather and assess non-technical customer feedback and relay it to technical product managers and developers.

A strong interest in sports and the ability to connect with stakeholders in sporting applications is essential.

You are an outgoing, self-driven, adaptable, and well-organized individual who is both empathetic and personable. You understand that the work schedule may include evenings and weekends. You can meet our academic, travel, and other requirements.

Academic Requirements:


Preferred candidates will be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Computer Software degree.

Relevant minors may include technical sales, entrepreneurial studies/management, marketing, economics, or coursework in personal selling or technical sales. December 2024 graduates will also be considered.

Completion of sophomore year with good academic standing is required.

Applicants must be prepared to take a semester off from school to pursue the internship if they are not graduates. The internship duration will encompass a semester and a summer.

Commitment to at least 40 hours per week is necessary. Overtime may be required to support special events and travel.

Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with the application for consideration.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time (approximately 50 days). Typically, this includes 4-11 trips ranging from 2-25 days, with an average of 9 days away.

Ability to travel by air and ground is essential. A valid driver's license is required, and motor vehicle records will be reviewed. Candidates must meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status.

Ground travel may involve Durangos and/or small and large trucks.

Physical capability to connect trailers to vehicles is necessary.

Ability to operate large trucks with or without trailers safely in various weather and traffic conditions is required.


Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements for operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) is mandatory: Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.


Obtain state and company certification to operate a CMV with a gross vehicle weight rating from 10,001 to 26,001 pounds.

Employees will be required to participate in a driver exam road test.

Passing a medical exam, which includes a drug test, is also required.

Additional Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required. Knowledge of Spanish or French is advantageous.
