Position Title: Patient Access Representative II - Obstetrics & Gynecology

Department Overview: Our practice specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology, featuring a diverse team of medical professionals including physicians, midwives, and nurse practitioners. We are dedicated to providing culturally competent care to women across various age groups, addressing both obstetric and gynecological needs.

Role Summary: The Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) plays a crucial role in both administrative and clinical functions within our healthcare team. This position is vital for ensuring the efficient operation of our clinic, facilitating patient flow, and addressing both clinical and administrative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Duties:
    • Conduct patient registration following established protocols.
    • Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
    • Process cash payments and issue receipts.
    • Confirm insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations.
    • Manage incoming calls, determining urgency and directing appropriately.
    • Schedule appointments for new and returning patients.
    • Assist in maintaining clinic efficiency through various administrative tasks.
    • Address patient inquiries regarding billing and services.
    • Utilize interpreter services as necessary.
  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Efficiently manage patient flow within the clinic.
    • Prepare medical records and gather necessary information prior to patient visits.
    • Assist in patient rooming and documentation in electronic health records.
    • Monitor vital signs and conduct point-of-care testing as required.
    • Communicate effectively with patients about their care and expectations.
    • Support providers during clinical procedures and manage room turnover.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Experience in administrative roles within a clinical environment is advantageous.
