Healthcare Access Coordinator II - MedSurg 6 North

Position Overview:

The Healthcare Access Coordinator II (HAC II) role encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities, making it a vital part of our team. HAC IIs are instrumental in ensuring that both clinical and administrative needs are met, thereby facilitating a seamless patient experience.

Department Summary:

Med Surg 6 is a 32-bed adult medical surgical telemetry unit dedicated to post-operative surgical care. Our mission is to enhance and restore patients' health through collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. We cater to a diverse patient demographic, addressing various medical conditions including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory issues, and post-surgical recovery from General Surgery and Orthopedics. Our approach emphasizes assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and health restoration in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment. This unit operates in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting that is constantly evolving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Support the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Engage with patients and their families to provide information and assistance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a nursing assistant.
  • Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of two clinical rotations.
  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience as determined by the Chief Nursing Officer or designee.
