Position Title: Patient Access Representative II - Obstetrics/Gynecology

Department Overview:

Join a dedicated OB/GYN practice where a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, midwives, and nurse practitioners, provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. Our focus is on delivering culturally competent healthcare to women across all age groups.

Role Summary:

The Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) plays a crucial role in both administrative and clinical functions, ensuring the efficient operation of our ambulatory care team. This position is integral to facilitating patient flow and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Conduct patient registration following established protocols.
  • Verify patient identity using dual identifiers.
  • Process cash payments and issue receipts.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations.
  • Manage incoming calls with professionalism and direct them appropriately.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Assist in clinic operations by distributing necessary forms and information.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding billing and services.
  • Utilize interpreter services as required.
  • Employ critical thinking to resolve patient concerns and optimize clinic flow.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medical records and information prior to patient visits.
  • Participate in team meetings and huddles to enhance collaboration.
  • Room patients and assist with medical histories and documentation.
  • Monitor vital signs and conduct point-of-care testing as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients about their visit expectations.
  • Support providers during clinical procedures and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. A minimum of two years of experience as a medical assistant and one year in an administrative role within a clinical setting is ideal. Basic Life Support certification is required, and proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
