Position Overview:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Dietitian II plays a crucial role in promoting optimal health through nutrition. This position is based within the Outpatient Nutrition department and involves a commitment to delivering high-quality dietary care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting comprehensive dietary assessments and providing tailored counseling to meet individual patient needs.
  • Offering personalized nutrition guidance that engages participants based on their unique knowledge and interests.
  • Utilizing culturally relevant nutrition education resources and food models during counseling sessions.
  • Developing and communicating nutrition education plans during patient appointments, ensuring accurate documentation in patient records.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nutrition staff and social workers, to enhance patient care.
  • Supporting the training and development of both professional and paraprofessional nutrition staff, including dietetic interns and students.
  • Contributing to the creation of educational materials that promote nutrition awareness.

Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, food and nutrition, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred but may be substituted with relevant work experience.
  • Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in community and medical nutrition therapy following internship completion is required. Experience in healthcare or community settings is preferred.

Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a preference for bilingual skills. Flexibility to work across multiple locations and during evening or weekend hours is essential. Candidates should also possess the capability to travel between sites as needed.
