Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive dietary assessments and providing tailored counseling to meet individual patient needs.
- Offering personalized nutrition guidance that engages participants based on their unique knowledge and interests.
- Utilizing culturally relevant nutrition education resources and food models during counseling sessions.
- Developing and communicating nutrition education plans during patient appointments, ensuring accurate documentation in patient records.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nutrition staff and social workers, to enhance patient care.
- Supporting the training and development of both professional and paraprofessional nutrition staff, including dietetic interns and students.
- Contributing to the creation of educational materials that promote nutrition awareness.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, food and nutrition, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred but may be substituted with relevant work experience.
- Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) are preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in community and medical nutrition therapy following internship completion is required. Experience in healthcare or community settings is preferred.
Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a preference for bilingual skills. Flexibility to work across multiple locations and during evening or weekend hours is essential. Candidates should also possess the capability to travel between sites as needed.
