Role Summary:
We are in search of a scientific expert to spearhead the discovery of novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations aimed at enhancing the delivery of circular RNA therapeutic molecules. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in designing and evaluating formulations in preclinical models. Responsibilities will include engineering and optimizing LNPs, developing analytical methods for quality assurance, and refining processes for large-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate innovative formulations and materials for the efficacy of circular RNA delivery across various biological environments, particularly in vivo.
  • Assist in the enhancement of formulation and analytical capabilities focusing on nanoparticle technology, lyophilization, and process development for scalability.
  • Contribute to intellectual property initiatives related to delivery technologies.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and the broader organization, fostering a positive and engaging work atmosphere.
  • Recruit, mentor, and oversee scientists as necessary to develop, characterize, and assess the efficacy of formulations.
  • Plan and coordinate preclinical studies in collaboration with the in vivo research team.
  • Draft technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures for formulation processes and analytical methodologies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • MS/Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline, with relevant industry experience of 4-5 years for MS or 1-2 years for PhD.
  • Proven track record in nanoparticle research, with a solid understanding of the challenges associated with nanoparticle formulation and scale-up.
  • Experience in developing lyophilization protocols for nanoparticle formulations and conducting stability assessments is advantageous.
  • Technical expertise in LNP formulation for RNA and analytical techniques for particle characterization.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with lipid nanoparticles for RNA delivery in any capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in LNP formulation for nucleic acid delivery is highly desirable.
  • Experience in LNP process development and scale-up is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tissue-specific targeted delivery of LNP-nucleic acid formulations is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Prior experience in training and developing scientists is beneficial.
