Job Summary

The University of Kentucky's Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist Associate/KTC to join our team. As a key member of our research staff, you will be responsible for conducting literature reviews and summaries, leading data collection and analysis, and assisting senior research staff in developing innovative solutions and technologies to support KTC's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and summaries to inform research projects
  • Lead data collection and analysis efforts to support research initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior research staff to develop innovative solutions and technologies
  • Prepare technical reports and grant proposals to secure funding for research projects
  • Present research results to government agencies, industry partners, and at professional conferences
Requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently
  • Pays close attention to detail and employs strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Robust interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Ability to think innovatively and solve complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., transportation engineering, civil engineering, urban planning)
  • Experience in transportation research and analysis
  • Strong understanding of research methods and statistical analysis
