Role Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Scientist to spearhead the discovery of novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations aimed at enhancing the delivery of circular RNA therapeutics. This role involves the design and evaluation of formulations using animal models, with a focus on engineering and optimizing LNPs, ensuring quality control through robust analytical methods, and scaling up processes for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and develop innovative formulations and materials for effective circular RNA delivery across various biological settings, particularly in vivo.
  • Enhance formulation and analytical capabilities, emphasizing nanoparticle technology, lyophilization, and process development for large-scale production.
  • Contribute to the preparation of patent applications concerning delivery technologies.
  • Foster a collaborative and engaging work environment across teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of scientists focused on formulation development and efficacy assessment.
  • Coordinate and oversee animal studies in collaboration with the in vivo research team.
  • Draft technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures for formulation processes and analytical methodologies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • MS/Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline, with relevant industry experience (4-5 years for MS or 1-2 years for PhD).
  • Proven track record in nanoparticle research, with insights into the challenges of scale-up and translation.
  • Experience in developing lyophilization protocols for nanoparticle formulations and conducting stability testing is advantageous.
  • Technical expertise in LNP formulation for RNA and analytical techniques for particle characterization.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in lipid nanoparticles for RNA delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in LNP formulation for nucleic acid delivery.
  • Experience in LNP process development and scale-up.
  • Knowledge of tissue-specific targeted delivery of LNP-nucleic acid formulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Prior experience in training and developing scientists.
