We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist I to join our team at the Institute for Biomedical Informatics. As a key member of our Medicaid Analytics team, you will be responsible for independently or collaboratively performing statistical analysis and/or machine learning pipeline development using large and often disparate data sets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deploy predictive models to identify important relationships and trends
- Summarize and communicate findings to technical and non-technical clients/stakeholders
- Collaborate with senior Data Scientists to prepare grant proposals and support data science project endeavors
- Develop data visualizations using open source languages/software and/or data visualization software
- Fluency in one or more data analysis programming languages (R, Python, SAS)
- Applied statistics (including advanced concepts such as MVA, MLR, etc.)
- Independent or collaborative development and deployment of common machine learning (ML) models
- Data visualization using open source languages/software and/or data visualization software
- Master's degree in statistics or related field plus 3 or more years of related experience
- Experience with substance use disorder research
