Position Overview

The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is in search of a seasoned professional to oversee and orchestrate live educational initiatives at various conferences and events. The Director of Education will be accountable for the comprehensive management of live educational offerings, which encompasses budgeting, content curation, speaker engagement, production oversight, logistical coordination, and the achievement of revenue and attendance targets. A proven track record in leading and developing live educational programs is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Live and Virtual Events:

  • Conduct market research to pinpoint educational opportunities for conferences and events.
  • Design and establish program frameworks that align with identified needs.
  • Set clear objectives for educational initiatives.
  • Engage with members to assess their educational requirements.
  • Coordinate pre-event logistics and communications.
  • Supervise events to ensure that objectives are fulfilled, fostering knowledge exchange, networking, and business growth.
  • Perform post-event evaluations to gauge success and provide recommendations for future improvements.
  • Facilitate Q&A sessions and panel discussions during virtual events.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Manage a minimum of six significant conferences annually.

General Duties:

  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee budgets for programs and events.
  • Content Planning: Ensure programs are engaging, relevant, and continuously enhanced.
  • Project Management: Create and maintain timelines for successful program execution.
  • Attendance and Revenue Goals: Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to meet these objectives.
  • Logistical Coordination: Work with the meetings department to manage event logistics.
  • Registration Oversight: Ensure seamless registration processes and reporting.
  • Guarantee that all programs achieve their financial and operational targets.

Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties may include managing committees or councils, collaborating with HIDA's Emerging Leaders program, and supporting various initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in adult education, particularly in live event production and speaker engagement.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and distribution topics or a willingness to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Exceptional project management skills: highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Customer service-oriented approach with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in an association environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and leader with members, staff, and external partners.
