About the Role

MEEC is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer at MEEC, you will play a critical role in ensuring the technical accuracy of electrical project reports and designs submitted to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design electrical power, low and medium voltage distribution systems, fire alarm, interior and exterior lighting, and grounding systems for various buildings, including new constructions and renovations.
  • Technical Design and Preparation: Prepare technical designs and construction documents for electrical projects.
  • Engineering Standards and Codes: Understand and apply engineering standards, systems, and building codes to ensure compliance.
  • Utility Coordination: Coordinate work with utility companies to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Equipment Selection: Assess and select appropriate equipment for projects based on specifications, cost, and other factors.
  • System Layout Drawings: Prepare detailed system layout drawings, including power, lighting, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems.
  • Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Optimize designs for energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into building designs.
  • Field Visits: Conduct occasional field visits to verify existing conditions or designed installations.
  • Market Sector Expertise: Work in various market sectors, including retail, commercial, multi-family, healthcare, education, and light industrial.
  • Training and Mentoring: Receive training and mentoring to further develop roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in utilizing various computer software packages, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Coordination Study, and Arc Fault Study Calculations.
  • MEP Industry Experience: Experience in the MEP industry.
  • Professional Certifications: Passed FE Exam (Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) or PE Exam (Practice of Engineering Exam).
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
