We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Garrett Motion. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative turbocharger systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop complex turbocharger systems, including turbochargers, compressors, and other related components.
  • Customer Interface: Interface closely with customers to understand their detailed design requirements and ensure that our products meet their needs.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure that our products are robust and meet customer requirements.
  • Design for Manufacturing: Apply design for manufacturing principles to ensure that our products can be manufactured efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality: Focus on built-in quality and ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of experience designing mechanical and aerodynamic devices/components/systems, preferably turbochargers or other similar components.
  • CAD Skills: Strong CAD skills, with a minimum of 2 years' experience with CATIA V5, Onshape, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of ASME Y or 2018 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standard and 2D/3D Tolerance Stack up analysis.
  • PLM Experience: Experience with Enovia PLM / SmarTeam / Team Center PDM Systems.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing Metal Castings, Machining, Sheet metal forming, Plastic injection molded parts & part assembly processes.
Additional Qualifications
  • Internal Combustion Engines: Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and turbochargers.
  • FEA and CFD: Knowledge and experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Kinematics and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
  • Mechatronics: Basic knowledge of mechatronics machines.
  • Design for Six Sigma: Design for Six Sigma certified.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and in a team environment, per design requirements & details identified.
