This position involves managing electrical projects to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion while contributing to business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing electrical power systems, including low and medium voltage distribution, fire alarm systems, interior and exterior lighting, and grounding solutions for various building types, encompassing both new developments and renovations.
  • Creating technical designs and preparing comprehensive construction documentation.
  • Applying knowledge of engineering standards, systems, and building regulations.
  • Coordinating efforts with utility providers.
  • Evaluating and selecting suitable equipment based on project requirements and cost considerations.
  • Producing detailed layout drawings for systems including power, lighting, telecommunications, and fire alarms.
  • Enhancing designs for energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Conducting occasional site visits to assess existing conditions or verify installations.
  • Possessing the versatility to work across various market sectors such as retail, commercial, multi-family, healthcare, education, and light industrial.
  • Providing training and mentorship to facilitate career growth and expanded responsibilities.
  • Developing and refining electrical designs for diverse projects.
  • Maintaining continuous compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are executed on schedule and within financial constraints.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent knowledge.
  • Proficiency in various software tools including AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Coordination Study, and Arc Fault Study Calculations.
  • Experience in the MEP industry.
  • Successful completion of the FE Exam (Fundamentals of Engineering) or the PE Exam (Practice of Engineering).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
