Position Title: Structural Engineering Specialist

Location: Newport News, VA

Overview:
Join our team at TASC Technical Services LLC, a leading provider of technical solutions for the Defense and Aerospace sectors. We are seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist to contribute to our innovative projects.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Structural Engineering Specialist, you will:
  • Conduct thorough analyses and research to develop structural engineering specifications utilizing various materials including metals and composites.
  • Evaluate damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling, with a focus on dynamics, loads, stability, and thermal analysis.
  • Utilize advanced engineering tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, and ProEngineer to support product design and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee project management methodologies to ensure successful implementation of assigned facilities projects.
  • Create and maintain project schedules to effectively communicate timelines and milestones, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and management throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Perform inspections to verify that construction and installation meet established specifications and codes.
  • Facilitate project closeout processes to retain essential documentation for future reference and facility maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with a focus on Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in project management and familiarity with relevant software tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct structural evaluations and assessments in industrial settings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
