As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the analysis and development of structural engineering specifications for various materials, including metals and composites. Your expertise will contribute to the design and operational efficiency of complex systems, encompassing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough analyses of damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling.
2. Specialize in areas such as dynamics, loads, stability, stress fatigue, and thermal analysis.
3. Utilize advanced software tools including CATIA, IDEAS, and ProEngineer for engineering tasks.
4. Perform intricate dynamic structural analyses using finite element analysis (FEA) methods with FEMAP and ABAQUS/Nastran.
5. Generate and review engineering calculation reports and structural analysis documentation.
6. Mentor junior engineers in engineering software applications and modeling techniques.
7. Collaborate with Construction Engineering and Trades to address fabrication and installation challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.
- Proven experience in managing projects and resolving complex engineering problems independently.
- Strong understanding of structural dynamics and stress analysis processes, particularly related to naval ship specifications.
