As a senior structural engineer within the A4W Reactor Plant Planning Yard (Department E83), you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and modernization of CVN68 Class aircraft carriers.


Key Responsibilities


Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting analysis and research to develop structural engineering specifications for various materials.
  • Evaluating damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling.
  • Utilizing advanced software tools for structural analysis, including CATIA and ProEngineer.

Qualifications


To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • A Master's Degree with 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.

Preferred Skills


Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in shock testing and qualification of shipboard equipment.
  • Familiarity with static and dynamic analysis of steel structures.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) applications and 3-D modeling software.
