The Role

The Advanced Capabilities team is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to contribute to the development of the next-generation Fast-Attack Submarine program.

This role involves overseeing multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers and presenting findings to senior leadership and technical experts.

The engineer will analyze and develop structural engineering specifications for various materials and designs, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting damage tolerance and durability analyses.
  • Utilizing software tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, and ProEngineer for structural modeling.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members.

Qualifications

Must Have:
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience. A degree from an ABET accredited program is required.

Nice to Have:
Familiarity with submarine engineering and design requirements, along with strong communication skills, particularly in technical writing. Experience with collaborative environments and knowledge of software applications such as FEMAP, Abaqus, and MatLab is advantageous.
