Position: Supportive Care Assistant (Part-Time)
Compensation: $17.25 per hour, increasing to $18.25 upon completion of medication certification.
Work Schedule:
- Sunday: 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Job Type: Part-time

Position Summary:
The Supportive Care Assistant is tasked with delivering essential assistance and care to individuals enrolled in various programs offered by the Agency, including community living arrangements and vocational services. This role involves direct engagement in daily care, education, and supervision of clients, along with maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the well-being and location of clients at all times.
- Assist in the development and execution of each client's Individualized Plan of Service.
- Guide and support clients in daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and community involvement.
- Monitor client progress towards established goals.
- Safeguard client rights and report any incidents of mistreatment.
- Complete necessary documentation, including incident and medication error reports.
- Implement prescribed behavioral and therapeutic plans.
- Organize recreational and community engagement activities for clients.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and external agencies to achieve client goals.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided and client progress.
- Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
- Administer medications and provide basic health care as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all program areas and equipment.
- Transport clients to various activities and appointments.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills as mandated.
- Complete the Medication Certification program and maintain certification.
- Manage petty cash accounts for clients accurately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Team Collaboration:
Engage actively in team meetings and training sessions, fostering a cooperative work environment.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with exposure to various weather conditions during client transportation.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have completed the Medication Certification Program and possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of experience working with individuals facing developmental or behavioral challenges preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to communicate effectively, stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds, with the ability to exert more force when necessary.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems.
