Job Overview

Full-Time Position: 30 hours per week

Compensation: $17.25 - $18.25 per hour

Schedule:

  • Sunday: 3pm - 11pm
  • Monday: 6pm - 10pm
  • Tuesday: 6pm - 11pm
  • Wednesday: 6pm - 11pm
  • Saturday: 7am - 3pm

Position Summary:
We are looking for dedicated Support Care Specialists to provide essential assistance and care to individuals in our various programs. This role involves working with clients in community living settings, family support services, and vocational programs. Your primary responsibilities will include direct care, teaching, and supervising clients, as well as maintaining accurate records of their progress.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients through direct supervision.
- Assist in developing and implementing each client's Individualized Plan of Service or Individual Educational Plan, focusing on daily living skills.
- Monitor client progress and implement behavioral plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to follow through on recommended programs.
- Create and facilitate recreational and community engagement activities.
- Work closely with families, schools, and other agencies to achieve client goals.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services provided and client progress.
- Participate in required training sessions and staff meetings.
- Administer medications and provide first aid as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of program areas and client belongings.
- Transport clients to various activities and programs.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills.
- Manage petty cash and client funds responsibly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medication Certification Program is required.
- Certification in PMT, CPR, and First Aid is necessary.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience with individuals facing developmental or behavioral challenges is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and exert significant force when necessary.
- Capability to communicate effectively and perform various physical tasks.
- Good vision and the ability to adjust focus as needed.

Language Proficiency:
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English.
- Proficient in writing reports and correspondence in English.

Mathematical Skills:
- Competence in basic arithmetic operations.

Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve practical problems.
