ROLE: CHILDCARE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: CHILDCARE COORDINATOR

COLLABORATES WITH: CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME

COMPENSATION: MINIMUM WAGE

WestGate Church, a vibrant and diverse non-denominational community, is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Support Specialist. This role is essential in creating a nurturing, safe, and inviting atmosphere for children and their families.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in child care or related fields.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive physical, emotional, and intellectual support to children in your care.
  • Offer appropriate guidance and assistance to each child.
  • Support parents during check-in processes.
  • Assist children with snacks and meals as necessary.
  • In nursery settings, ensure proper care including warming bottles and changing diapers.
  • Prepare classrooms and assist with toileting as per established policies.
  • Maintain a friendly and courteous atmosphere for all children and adults.
  • Participate in training and educational events organized by WestGate Church.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in attendance.
  • Foster a cooperative relationship with staff and parents.
  • Adhere to all childcare policies and avoid any form of physical discipline.

Work Environment

This position operates within a classroom setting equipped with appropriate child care materials. Scheduling is flexible and based on need.
