Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Objective of the Role:

  • The Desktop Support Engineer is tasked with delivering daily desktop assistance at client locations and through remote access, aiding a diverse clientele with their technological requirements.
  • This position provides the chance to engage with advanced technologies and solutions, gaining insights into various enterprise settings rather than being confined to a single organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage support for client desktops, laptops, printers, networks, and servers consistently.
  • Resolve IT infrastructure challenges for clients both on-site and via remote support.
  • Work in collaboration with vendors to diagnose technical problems associated with desktop hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with Managers, Service Coordinators, and fellow Engineers to maintain high customer service standards and deliver outstanding support.
  • Diagnose and rectify network and system issues, whether on-site or remotely.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • Execute any additional duties as required.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Over 5 years of experience in supporting Windows-based networks and endpoint devices.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, Windows operating systems, peripheral hardware, and software applications.
  • Understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls in relation to troubleshooting endpoint devices.
  • Experience in installing Windows software, patches, updates, third-party applications, and desktop encryption.
  • Familiarity with MacOS and Apple devices.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to local client sites as necessary.
  • Genuine interest in learning new technologies and providing support.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in the information technology sector.
  • An associate degree or equivalent in information systems or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications would be beneficial.
