Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Objective of the Role:

  • The Desktop Support Engineer is tasked with delivering comprehensive desktop assistance at various client locations and through remote channels, catering to diverse technological requirements.
  • This position provides a unique chance to engage with advanced technologies and solutions, offering exposure to multiple enterprise settings rather than being confined to a single organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support client desktops, laptops, printers, networks, and servers on a routine basis.
  • Resolve IT infrastructure challenges for clients both in-person and remotely.
  • Work in conjunction with vendors to diagnose technical problems associated with desktop hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Service Coordinators, and fellow Engineers to maintain high customer service standards and deliver outstanding support.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify network and system complications, whether on-site or off-site.
  • Exhibit a professional and positive representation of the company while interacting with clients.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Over 5 years of experience in supporting Windows-based networks and endpoint devices.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, Windows operating systems, peripheral hardware, and software applications.
  • Understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls in relation to troubleshooting endpoint devices.
  • Experience in deploying Windows software, patches, updates, third-party applications, and desktop encryption.
  • Familiarity with MacOS and Apple devices.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive demeanor.
  • Willingness to travel to local client sites as necessary.
  • Genuine interest in learning new technologies and providing effective support.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in the information technology sector.
  • An A.A. degree or equivalent in information systems or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Microsoft certification(s) would be beneficial.
