Position Overview


At Anthony L. Jordan Health, we have a rich history that spans over a century, beginning in 1904. As one of the pioneering Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in the United States, we are dedicated to serving individuals who encounter obstacles to health and healthcare, providing a wide range of essential medical, dental, behavioral health, and community services.

We are currently in search of a Receptionist who will work under the direction of the Front Office Supervisor. This role is crucial as it serves as the primary connection between our patients and the comprehensive care provided by our clinical and service teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming patients and facilitating their registration process, which includes verifying insurance, updating demographic information, and ensuring all necessary electronic health record fields are completed.
  • Creating an environment that fosters an exceptional experience for both patients and team members.
  • Ensuring a smooth patient flow to clinicians, enabling us to serve the maximum number of patients effectively.
  • Maintaining compliance with all regulations related to care provision, including billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Being a collaborative team player within the Jordan Health community.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Familiarity with office phone systems and their features.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Training from a computer or business school is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Special Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of accuracy in patient intake processes.
  • Resourcefulness and proactivity in addressing issues as they arise.
  • Experience with electronic health records, particularly eClinicalWorks, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or in a similar capacity.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.

As an independent FQHC, we hold a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation through the National Committee on Quality Assurance.
