Job Overview

Evolver Federal is on the lookout for a talented Azure Cloud Solutions Engineer to enhance our team dedicated to supporting federal clients. This role offers a full-time opportunity with a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of on-site and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and oversee Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage solutions, networking components, and security measures.
  • Continuously monitor and fine-tune the performance of Azure environments to guarantee optimal availability and scalability.
  • Establish and uphold security protocols across all Azure resources, including the management of Azure policies, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and identity management via Azure Active Directory.
  • Design and implement network frameworks for secure and efficient connectivity between on-premises data centers and Azure platforms.
  • Set up and manage VPNs, ExpressRoute, and other connectivity solutions to facilitate data access and integration.
  • Ensure reliable data access and performance for Microsoft SQL servers hosted on-premises and linked to cloud environments.
  • Install, configure, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, ensuring peak performance and security.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to RHEL in both on-premises and cloud settings.
  • Automate routine tasks and configurations utilizing shell scripting and various automation tools.
  • Support the Alation Data Catalog platform, ensuring its seamless integration with diverse data sources and systems.
  • Design and implement Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Synapse Analytics environments.
  • Enhance data ingestion, storage, and processing within the Azure Data Lake.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure efficient querying, data transformation, and analytics workflows within Azure Synapse.
  • Lead and engage in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall cloud infrastructure and data management practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in cloud technologies, particularly within Azure, to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and network connectivity.
  • 3 years of experience in Azure services, network protocols, RHEL administration, SQL Server management, and data catalog solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, emphasizing Microsoft Azure and network connectivity.
  • 5 years of experience in Azure services, network protocols, RHEL administration, SQL Server management, and data catalog solutions.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and relevant data management or cloud security certifications.
  • Experience with big data platforms, data governance, and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
