Position Overview

GCyber is seeking a Cloud Operations Specialist to enhance our cloud systems engineering, administration, and maintenance efforts for a prominent Executive Branch client. Your main objective will be to ensure the seamless functionality of Azure cloud services. In this role, you will oversee the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of Azure environments to support critical applications and operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and maintain Azure resources effectively.
  • Conduct system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and essential processes.
  • Examine system and application logs, ensuring the successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backups.
  • Assist in security evaluations to identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities while implementing necessary enhancements.
  • Oversee Azure identities, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud setting, ensuring optimal configuration and management.
  • Guarantee that all cloud solutions comply with organizational security and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Automate cloud deployments and configuration management tasks to enhance efficiency and minimize human error.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Security, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • CISSP or similar security certification
  • 7+ years of experience, including focused expertise in cloud systems engineering and/or administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services and Azure solutions, including Azure Active Directory, Azure VMs, Azure Networking, and storage options.
  • Experience in implementing and managing cloud security, ensuring compliance with NIST and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting technologies (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Azure CLI)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
