Position Summary:

The Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for the design, deployment, and migration of systems across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud services and the ability to assess new technologies for integration into existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and manage Azure Government IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  2. Execute hands-on tasks to establish and maintain Azure Government Cloud environments, including migrating workloads from on-premises to the cloud.
  3. Oversee product and platform architectures, ensuring that all projects align with the architectural framework.
  4. Conduct comprehensive analysis and implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions, focusing on computing, networking, and security.
  5. Develop and support solutions in cloud and virtualized environments, with a strong grasp of hybrid cloud architectures.
  6. Effectively communicate and promote the architectural vision across various teams.
  7. Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex projects.
  8. Formulate a robust cloud strategy and manage its implementation.
  9. Oversee cost management for Azure Government services and implement a tagging strategy for cloud resources.
  10. Demonstrate proficiency in core Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL.
  11. Design, upgrade, and decommission Windows and Linux systems, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  12. Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve issues and ensure service level agreements are met.
  13. Create documentation tailored for diverse audiences, showcasing creativity and innovation in a dynamic environment.
  14. Possess knowledge of RESTful APIs, Web Services, XML, and JSON.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Equivalent combination of education and extensive work experience (10 years) is acceptable.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification in specialized areas is mandatory.
  • ITIL V4 Certification is preferred.
  • Agile SaFe/Scrum Master Certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in designing and maintaining public cloud solutions, particularly with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including IP subnetting and security protocols.
  • Proven experience in migrating applications from on-premises environments to Azure.
  • Expertise in Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM Templates, and Azure Networking.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Azure DevOps and security management.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools and implementing DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with security policies and event management in cloud environments.
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience with relational databases, particularly MS SQL.
