Role Overview:

We are on the lookout for a skilled Employee Benefits Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Richmond, VA. If you excel in a fast-paced work environment that prioritizes excellence and encourages innovative thought, we would love to connect with you.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:

The Employee Benefits Acquisition Specialist is integral in supporting our clients by providing product and service insights, addressing inquiries, and managing service requests for both new and existing insurance accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of a two to four-year college degree or a comparable combination of education and professional experience.
  • At least two years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Possession of a Life and Health license, or the capability to secure one within 90 days.
  • Preferably holds a CEBS designation or is actively pursuing it.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Exemplary problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, with excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research prior to clients' coverage anniversary dates for both new and renewal business.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all contracts and policies.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with carriers.
  • Market various lines of group coverage, including medical, dental, and disability.
  • Prepare detailed proposals for new business and renewals, along with precise spreadsheets for presentations.
  • Assist in developing marketing and placement strategies for accounts.
  • Resolve commission discrepancies through internal accounting adjustments and communication with insurance carriers.
  • Document all activities in relevant agency management systems and participate in industry seminars for ongoing education.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
