Job Description:

Stanford University's Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Special Assistant for Student-Athlete Development, Women's Basketball. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class athletics program and contribute to the success of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Head Coach and team members to manage calendars, schedules, and appearances.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance players' social media presence, communication skills, and public relations to elevate their influence and marketability.
  • Collaborate with the in-house NIL General Manager of Altius Sports Partners to ensure streamlined communication and alignment of strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with compliance and other related teams to ensure NIL activities align with NCAA regulations and institutional policies.
  • Assist student-athletes in developing their portfolio of NIL deals and collaborate with marketing and development offices to enhance the visibility of the basketball program.
  • Coordinate community service initiatives for the team, fostering a strong presence within the university and broader community.
  • Coordinate workshops and sessions focused on financial literacy and long-term financial planning for student-athletes.
  • Lead initiatives in community and alumni outreach.
  • Serve as liaison to key stakeholders and work with development to host special guests and donors at home and away games.
  • Provide event coordination and execution support for recruiting, team, and donor events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience (five years preferred).
  • Ability to acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles, and coordination of general administrative services.
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a sports-related field ideal.
  • Driving is considered an essential job duty, and a valid driver's license is required.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford's intercollegiate athletics program, recreation, and wellness department, and for the reputation of Stanford University.

This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
