Overview:

The HR Specialist at Toyota Boshoku Tennessee plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive Human Resources support aimed at fostering positive team member relations, enhancing collaboration, and promoting the core values and culture of the organization.

This position may also extend support to Safety, Security, and Training initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Address and resolve team member concerns while providing constructive feedback to management.
  • Ensure equitable and consistent application of company policies and practices.
  • Conduct exit interviews and communicate findings with the HR team.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop and refine policies and procedures.
  • Standardize and ensure compliance in the hiring process for hourly employees.
  • Prepare and present recommendations regarding employee terminations.
  • Assist in negotiating service agreements.
  • Support the execution of team member opinion surveys.
  • Analyze team member morale through various data collection methods.
  • Facilitate team member relations activities, including communications and meetings.
  • Investigate and resolve internal complaints and ethics-related issues.
  • Lead training sessions related to team member relations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the organization, its manufacturing processes, and industry terminology.
  • Plan and coordinate social and community engagement activities.
  • Provide cross-training and support in the absence of HR team members.
  • Assist with recruitment, benefits administration, onboarding, and team member development as needed.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • A minimum of four years of relevant HR generalist experience, particularly in employee relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities across departments.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent project management skills with the capacity to oversee various initiatives.
  • Competence in creating reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to produce clear visual reports using charts and graphs.
  • Adaptability to corporate culture and standards.
  • Quick and appropriate response to unexpected workplace situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts outside normal business hours.
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking abilities.

Language Proficiency:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Experience with large-scale HRIS and enterprise systems, such as Oracle and Kronos, is preferred.

Work Environment:

The role involves working in an open office environment with moderate noise levels, as well as in a standard automotive plant setting where PPE may be required.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is essential. The role requires talking, seeing, and hearing, along with the capacity to walk, sit, and stand for long durations. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be necessary.
