General Overview:

The role involves delivering Human Resources assistance to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, aiming to foster stable employee relations, enhance collaboration, and promote the company's core values and culture.

This position may also extend support to Safety, Security, and Training departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Address concerns and provide insights to management regarding employee relations through daily engagement with staff and departmental leaders.
  2. Ensure equitable and consistent application of company policies and established practices.
  3. Conduct exit interviews and share findings with the HR team.
  4. Collaborate with fellow HR professionals to formulate policies and procedures.
  5. Guarantee that the recruitment of hourly employees adheres to standardized processes and complies with company regulations.
  6. Prepare and present recommendations for employee terminations.
  7. Assist in negotiating service agreements.
  8. Support the execution of employee opinion surveys.
  9. Evaluate employee morale through various analytical methods.
  10. Facilitate employee relations initiatives (such as communications, roundtable discussions, gemba walks, and company-wide meetings).
  11. Investigate, document, and resolve internal complaints and ethics-related issues.
  12. Deliver various training sessions related to employee relations.
  13. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Toyota Boshoku's organizational structure, manufacturing plants, processes, products, and industry terminology.
  14. Plan and lead social and community engagement activities.
  15. Provide cross-training and support in the absence of HR colleagues as necessary.

Additionally, assist with recruitment, benefits management, onboarding, personnel administration, employee development, and other HR-related tasks as required.


Qualifications:
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a human resources generalist role, with a focus on employee relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and prioritize tasks.
  • Proactive approach to assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality regarding all encountered information.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate various initiatives.
  • Proficient in creating reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to compile clear and effective visual reports using charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and adherence to corporate culture.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to unexpected situations in the workplace.
  • Willingness to work fixed or rotating shifts, including outside of regular business hours.
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking abilities.

Language Proficiency:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Skills:
  • Solid experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with large-scale HRIS and other enterprise systems, with Oracle and Kronos experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams is preferred.

Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with moderate noise levels.
Plant:
Standard automotive manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection may be required in certain areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is necessary. The employee must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for long durations and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. The ability to travel by car and airplane is also required.
