General Overview:

The role involves delivering Human Resources assistance to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, aiming to foster positive team member relations, enhance collaboration, and promote the company's core values and culture.

Additional support may be provided to Safety, Security, and Training departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Address concerns and provide insights to team member relations management through regular engagement with team members and departmental leaders.
  2. Guarantee equity and uniformity in the enforcement of company policies and established practices.
  3. Conduct exit interviews and share findings with the HR team.
  4. Collaborate with fellow HR professionals to formulate policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure the hiring process for hourly employees adheres to company standards and regulations.
  6. Prepare and present recommendations for employee terminations.
  7. Assist in negotiating service agreements.
  8. Support the execution of team member opinion surveys.
  9. Evaluate team member morale utilizing data collected through various methods.
  10. Carry out team member relations initiatives (communications, round table discussions, gemba walks, company-wide meetings, etc.).
  11. Investigate, document, and resolve internal grievances and Ethics Point issues.
  12. Facilitate various training sessions related to team member relations.
  13. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Toyota Boshoku's organizational structure, automotive manufacturing processes, company products, industry terminology, and operational principles.
  14. Plan, coordinate, and lead social and community engagement activities.
  15. Provide cross-training and support in the absence of HR colleagues as necessary.

Additionally, assist with recruitment processes, benefits management, onboarding, personnel administration, team member development, and other HR-related tasks as required.


Qualifications:
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience in human resources, particularly in employee/team member relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to manage multiple departments and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Initiative to undertake assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Proficient project management skills with the capability to oversee various projects and programs.
  • Competence in generating reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Skill in creating clear and concise visual reports using charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Ability to uphold a professional demeanor and align with corporate culture standards.
  • Quick and appropriate response to unexpected situations in the workplace.
  • Flexibility to work fixed or rotating shifts, including outside regular business hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities.

Language Proficiency:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Solid experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with large-scale HRIS and other enterprise systems, with Oracle and Kronos experience being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS TEAMS is preferred.

Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with moderate noise levels.
Plant:
Standard automotive manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection may be necessary in certain areas. Personal attire standards may be enforced.
Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time is required.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is essential. The role requires talking, seeing, and hearing. The individual must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for long durations and may occasionally need to lift up to 30 pounds. Travel by automobile and airplane is also necessary.
