Overview:

The Traveling HR Generalist is tasked with delivering comprehensive Human Resources support to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, fostering positive team member relations, enhancing workplace dynamics, and promoting the company's core values and culture.

Responsibilities may include providing assistance to Safety, Security, and Training departments. The role ensures equitable and consistent application of company policies and historical practices. Key duties include conducting exit interviews and sharing insights with the HR team, collaborating with fellow HR professionals to develop policies and procedures, and standardizing the hiring process for hourly team members in alignment with company guidelines.

Additional responsibilities encompass assisting in team member opinion surveys, investigating and resolving internal complaints and Ethics Point issues, and facilitating various training sessions related to team member relations. The HR Generalist will maintain a thorough understanding of TBA's organizational structure, automotive manufacturing processes, and company products.

Furthermore, the role involves planning, supporting, and leading TBA's social and community engagement activities, as well as providing cross-training and support during HR staff absences. This position also requires involvement in recruitment processes, benefits administration, onboarding, personnel management, team member development, and other HR-related tasks as necessary.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a human resources generalist role, with a focus on employee/team member relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Initiative to manage assigned tasks independently.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality of encountered information.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate various projects and programs.
  • Proficiency in creating reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Competence in developing clear and concise visual reports using charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Ability to align with corporate culture while maintaining professionalism.
  • Quick and appropriate response to unexpected workplace situations.
  • Flexibility to work fixed or rotating shifts, including outside of standard business hours.

Language Proficiency:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Solid working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with large-scale HRIS and business enterprise systems, with Oracle and Kronos experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS TEAMS is preferred.

Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with a moderate noise level.

Plant:
Standard automotive manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection may be required in certain areas.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel 0-10% of the time is necessary. The ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is required, along with the capability to travel by automobile and airplane.
