General Overview:

The role is pivotal in delivering Human Resources assistance to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, aimed at fostering stable employee relations, enhancing collaboration, and promoting the company’s core values and culture.

Additional support may be provided to Safety, Security, and Training departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Address concerns and provide insights to management regarding employee relations through regular engagement with staff and departmental leaders.
  2. Guarantee equitable and consistent application of company policies and historical practices.
  3. Conduct exit interviews and relay findings to the HR team.
  4. Collaborate with fellow HR professionals to formulate policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure standardized and compliant hiring processes for hourly employees.
  6. Prepare and present recommendations for employee terminations.
  7. Assist in negotiating service agreements.
  8. Support the execution of employee opinion surveys.
  9. Evaluate employee morale through various analytical methods.
  10. Facilitate employee relations initiatives such as communications, roundtable discussions, gemba walks, and company-wide meetings.
  11. Investigate and report on internal grievances and ethics-related issues.
  12. Deliver various training sessions related to employee relations.
  13. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization, its automotive plants, processes, products, and industry terminology.
  14. Plan and lead social and community engagement activities.
  15. Provide cross-training and support in the absence of HR colleagues as necessary.

Additionally, assist with recruitment, benefits management, onboarding, personnel administration, employee development, and other HR-related tasks as required.


Qualifications:
Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience in a human resources generalist role, particularly in employee relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong communication abilities and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Capability to collaborate with multiple departments and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive approach to assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives.
  • Proficient in creating reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to develop concise visual reports using charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Maintain a suitable level of professionalism in alignment with corporate culture.
  • Quick and appropriate response to unexpected workplace situations.
  • Willingness to work fixed or rotating shifts, including outside of regular business hours.
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.

Language Proficiency:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Solid experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with large-scale HRIS and other enterprise systems, with Oracle and Kronos experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS TEAMS is preferred.

Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with moderate noise levels.
Plant:
Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection may be required in certain areas. Dress code standards may apply.
Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is essential. The role requires talking, seeing, and hearing. The individual must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for long durations and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Travel by automobile and airplane is also required.
