General Overview:

The role involves delivering Human Resources assistance to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, aimed at fostering stable employee relations, enhancing collaborative dynamics, and promoting the organization's core values and culture.

This position may also extend support to Safety, Security, and Training departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Address concerns and provide insights to management regarding employee relations through consistent engagement with team members and departmental leaders.
  2. Guarantee equity and uniformity in the enforcement of company policies and established practices.
  3. Conduct exit interviews and share findings with the HR team.
  4. Collaborate with fellow HR professionals to formulate policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure that the recruitment of hourly employees adheres to standardized processes and complies with organizational policies.
  6. Prepare and present recommendations for employee terminations.
  7. Assist in negotiating service agreements.
  8. Support the execution of employee opinion surveys.
  9. Evaluate employee morale utilizing data collected through various methodologies.
  10. Engage in team member relations activities such as communications, roundtable discussions, gemba walks, and company-wide meetings.
  11. Investigate, document, and resolve internal grievances and Ethics Point issues.
  12. Facilitate various training sessions related to employee relations.
  13. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Toyota Boshoku's structure, automotive facilities, operational principles, product offerings, industry terminology, and manufacturing processes.
  14. Plan, assist with, and lead social and community engagement initiatives.
  15. Provide cross-training and support in the absence of HR personnel as necessary.

Additionally, assist with recruitment efforts, benefits management, onboarding processes, personnel administration, employee development, and other HR-related tasks as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Experience:
  • At least four (4) years of pertinent experience in a human resources generalist role, with a focus on employee relations.
  • Experience in corporate and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills:
  • Proficient in communicating and collaborating effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Capable of working with various departments and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative on assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional independent judgment and discretion are essential.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives.
  • Competent in generating reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to create clear and concise visual reports using charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Must uphold a suitable level of professionalism and alignment with corporate culture.
  • Quick and appropriate response to unexpected situations in the workplace is required.
  • Availability to work fixed or rotating shifts, including outside of standard business hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities.

Language Proficiency:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Solid experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, desktop publishing, and presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with large-scale HRIS and other enterprise systems; experience with Oracle and Kronos is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS TEAMS is preferred.

Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with a moderate noise level.

Plant:
Standard automotive manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection may be necessary in certain areas. Personal attire standards may apply.

Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time is required.

Physical Requirements:
The ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is essential. The employee must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for long durations and may occasionally need to lift up to 30 pounds. The ability to travel by car and airplane is also required.
