Position Summary:

The Commercial Lines Client Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the department in fulfilling customer service requirements. This includes essential tasks such as processing modifications, conducting assessments, making communications, and ensuring accurate data entry into the agency management system to meet the quality and service benchmarks established by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance to clients and potential clients.
  • Accurately handle endorsements, certificates, and invoice all transactions as directed by the Account Manager; process change confirmations efficiently.
  • Support the team in managing new and renewal business as needed, including assembling applications, organizing files, and preparing proposals in line with agency standards.
  • Invoice assigned commercial premium transactions in accordance with agency protocols.
  • Process confirmed cancellations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all company change procedures.
  • Provide effective support to the department utilizing computer and word processing skills, including rating programs within the agency management system.
  • Keep client files organized within the agency management system.
  • Review all interactions involving the public, clients, and companies to prevent potential errors and omissions.
  • Engage in seminars and training sessions to maintain necessary licenses and enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to grasp a comprehensive understanding of commercial underwriting and coverage, interpreting abstract data effectively.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PC applications, particularly within the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.), along with the capability to utilize the agency's management systems efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Self-driven with the initiative to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and management at all levels.
  • Capability to foster and maintain a collaborative team environment, seeking accommodating solutions for clients, companies, and the agency.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Experience Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in commercial lines insurance is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of direct customer service experience via phone is preferred.
  • Possession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, all necessary licenses as mandated by the State Department of Insurance is required.
  • CISR designation is preferred.
  • An associate degree is preferred.
Working Environment:
  • Fast-paced office setting requiring multi-tasking, with occasional high disruption and changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently.
  • Capability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display.
