Job OverviewPosition Summary

Support the Engineering Manager in steering the Engineering division and facilitating ongoing and upcoming Greenpoint initiatives. This role involves planning, organizing, coaching, mentoring, and training engineers assigned to various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to direct the Design Engineering team, ensuring timely and successful completion of engineering designs that meet both internal and external specifications.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations, employee relations, and assist the department head in providing constructive feedback.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one sessions with assigned engineers to foster development and address concerns.
  • Assist the department head in resource allocation, recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff assessment.
  • Distribute daily tasks while ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Guide, mentor, and coach Engineers to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure that all design data release timelines align with the project schedule for successful aircraft delivery.
  • Offer technical direction and feedback to Engineers, ensuring focus on technical objectives and providing assistance as necessary.
  • Develop tools, databases, and workflow procedures aimed at optimizing project support, quality, and timely delivery of Monument Design Packages.
  • Provide updates and reports as needed to Project Engineers and the Engineering Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments within Greenpoint to reach consensus on problem-solving approaches and mitigate constraints.
  • Prepare meeting materials and present updates on specific program design issues to maintain project timelines and foster team consensus.
  • Identify, document, and communicate risks, challenges, and lessons learned to the Project Engineer and Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and full shift work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of Aerospace Standards and Specifications related to Aircraft Structures, Interiors, Materials, Mechanical Systems, and Payload Systems.
  • Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assemblies and manufacturing design techniques.
  • Proficient in industry-standard CAD systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds, with visual acuity for focus adjustments.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when required.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to provide high-level guidance for customized solutions with minimal error margins within strict deadlines while leading other engineers in execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of analysis required for multiple disciplines, including locating, provisioning, and installations for LRUs (electrical equipment) and 3D wire routing in compliance with aircraft system separation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and experience collaborating with regulatory bodies.
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, majoring in aerospace, or eight years of equivalent experience in the aerospace industry, or a suitable combination of education and experience. Experience in an aircraft completions organization, ideally in a Lead Engineer capacity, is preferred.

Employees engaged in programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person, defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident not employed by a foreign entity, or a political asylee for legal compliance.

The expected salary range for this position in Washington is between $120,000 and $165,528. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other legally permissible factors.
