Summary:
The Lead Ultrasound Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing the signal processing pathways for imaging capabilities across our ultrasound platforms. This position involves leading the continuous enhancement of our systems to align with market demands and innovative practices. The engineer will focus on refining image quality through the development of tools, methodologies, and frameworks to optimize imaging parameters. In this role, you will spearhead solutions for cross-disciplinary integration challenges, collaborating with various engineering teams (systems, hardware, software, transducer, mechanical, human factors, clinical, and manufacturing) as well as product management and clinical specialists to devise ultrasound solutions that are effective, practical, and aligned with customer requirements and corporate strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead or contribute to the definition, documentation, and simulation of system architecture.
- Optimize image quality on ultrasound systems through the development of tools and methodologies.
- Create software solutions for image enhancement and data analysis.
- Develop and implement innovative signal processing algorithms.
- Collaborate with transducer engineering to integrate new transducer technologies into ultrasound systems.
- Work alongside clinical specialists to tailor transducers for specific medical applications.
- Innovate imaging modes and techniques that cater to the point-of-care market.
- Conduct studies to evaluate transducer performance.
- Design and execute integration tests for transducers and features.
- Engage in the development of new workflow automation algorithms.
- Propose and execute feasibility studies for new projects.
- Manage timelines for feature and transducer optimization deliverables.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Master's or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4-6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years in medical ultrasound imaging.
- Proficient in ultrasound physics, signal and image processing, transducer optimization, simulation, algorithm development, and tool creation.
- Extensive experience in product development from concept to market launch.
- Experience in regulated industries such as ISO and FDA.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record of leadership in innovative product development.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Ability to conduct independent research and produce concise reports, publications, or patents.
- Enthusiastic about leading in a dynamic, collaborative, small-team environment.
- Proficient in MATLAB and experienced in high-level programming languages.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:
- Compensation range: $120,000 - $165,000 plus variable bonus potential.
