POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves specialized oversight and management of Service and Support Administrators (SSA) who are responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and continuously evaluating personalized plans for individuals with developmental disabilities. These plans are centered around the individual’s needs and preferences. The incumbent will also have scheduled secondary on-call duties to address urgent matters outside of regular business hours.

As a representative of the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the individual in this position is expected to adhere to all organizational policies, demonstrate respect for the dignity of those served, and show sensitivity to diverse beliefs, cultures, values, and family structures.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Social Work, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates should possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in programs or services for individuals with developmental disabilities. A solid understanding of the SSA Rule and SSA position functions is essential. The ability to obtain and maintain SSA Management certification is required. The role demands collaboration with various departments, community partners, provider agencies, state agencies, and other County Boards. A commitment to the Person-Centered Philosophy is crucial. Strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and adherence to the organization's Code of Conduct are necessary. Candidates must pass a criminal background check, Abuser Registry checks, a pre-employment drug test, and hold a valid State of Ohio driver's license.

DUTIES:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership and management of SSA Department performance and development.
  • Reviewing SSA Department Members' work schedules, leave requests, and timesheets.
  • Developing and conducting training sessions for SSAs.
  • Reviewing and approving documentation related to individual services, including service plans and fiscal requests.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Meeting requirements for Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) reimbursement.
  • Coordinating efforts with internal and external entities to resolve issues, reduce service duplication, and ensure quality improvement.
  • Conducting team meetings and participating in regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Keeping the SSA Director informed of agency, departmental, and staff matters.
  • Providing secondary on-call coverage as needed.
Department Function Management:
  • Managing special projects.
  • Handling caseload assignments and changes.
  • Overseeing waiting list assessments.
  • Coordinating participation in various councils, task forces, or committees.
  • Participating in interviews and making hiring recommendations.
  • Planning and leading various training initiatives.
  • Reviewing and managing guidelines for Individual Service Plans.
These responsibilities are illustrative and may include some or all of these duties or other job-related tasks as assigned.
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with on-call duties as assigned. FLSA: Non-Exempt from Overtime. COMPENSATION: $28.64/hour or $59,575/year, depending on qualifications.
